The Woodbury Fire Department is located in the rural town of Woodbury within the hamlet of Highland Mills in Southeast Orange County. Located 45 miles north of New York City, this fire department's jurisdiction has an approximate population of 11,000 people. In addition to this all volunteer force serving the immediate community, the department also provides mutual aid to surrounding towns in southeast Orange County. Calls are infrequent but include motor vehicle crashes and occasional working fires. At a pivotal time in his life, one volunteer, Conner Sheehan, spends his time outside his last year of high school as a Junior Firefighter.
